1. Data Collection and Use
We are committed to protecting user privacy. This policy outlines the types of data collected through our website and mobile applications (the "Service").
1.1 Location Data
To provide localized UV Index information, the Service may request access to your device's geolocation. This data is used solely to provide real-time weather information for your current position. Location data is processed locally or via encrypted transit and is not stored permanently on our servers.
1.2 Subscription Data
Financial transactions are handled exclusively by Apple Inc. We do not collect or store credit card numbers or billing addresses. We receive only a non-identifying "subscriber token" to verify your access to premium features.
1.3 Auto-Renewing Subscriptions
Premium features in our iOS app are available via auto-renewing subscriptions managed entirely by Apple. Your subscription automatically renews unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current billing period. Your Apple ID will be charged for renewal within 24 hours prior to the end of the current period at the same price you originally subscribed at.
You can view, manage, or cancel your subscription at any time by going to Settings → [your Apple ID] → Subscriptions on your iOS device. Deleting the app does not cancel your subscription.

2. Third-Party Services
2.1 Analytics
We use Cloudflare Analytics to monitor Service performance. This is a privacy-first service that does not use cookies or collect personal identifiers.
2.2 Advertising
We use Google AdSense and AdMob to serve advertisements. These providers may use device identifiers or cookies to serve personalized ads. On iOS, personalized tracking is only enabled if you grant permission via the App Tracking Transparency (ATT) prompt.
3. Data Retention and Security
We implement industry-standard security measures, including SSL/TLS encryption, to protect data in transit. We do not maintain user accounts; therefore, we do not store personal profiles or contact lists.
4. Your Privacy Rights
4.1 European Union (GDPR)
Users within the European Union have rights regarding their data under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), including the right to access or delete any information we may hold. Since we collect minimal, non-identifying data, most of these rights are exercised by managing permissions (Location/Tracking) directly on your device.
4.2 California Residents (CCPA)
Under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), California residents have the right to know what personal information we collect, use, or share; to request deletion of their personal information; and to opt out of the sale of personal information. We do not sell personal information as defined by the CCPA. To exercise these rights, please contact us at hello@uvindex.today. We will respond within 45 days.
4.3 All Other Users
Regardless of your location, you may request access to, correction of, or deletion of any personal data we hold by contacting us at hello@uvindex.today. Because we collect minimal data, most controls are available directly on your device under Settings → Privacy & Security.
5. Children's Privacy
The Service is not directed to children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided us with personal information, please contact us at hello@uvindex.today and we will delete such information promptly.
6. Changes to This Policy
We reserve the right to modify this Privacy Policy at any time. For material changes, we will provide notice within the app or by updating the "Last Updated" date at the top of this page. Continued use of the Service after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
